The show

A cabarock legend

Eddy Piof's journey crosses a parallel world where pop culture, power, technology and political mythology collide. The show blends theatre, songs and troupe energy in a popular form: dark, funny and direct.

Story (season 1)

In year 42 of the nuclear era, street singer Eddy Piof heads to Paris. His talent draws a circle of ambiguous figures: Colonel Montblanc, Goulag Geburtstag, Michel Marteau and The Machine.

Lifted by the hit '(Come dance) le s'couss'roule', Eddy becomes an idol, then spirals through compromise, revolt, betrayal and forced labor. Jealousy leads to a clone—just as the Blob appears.

Between planetary danger, sacrifice, mausoleum and masked identity, the ending opens a legend larger than the man: who is really Eddy Piof?

What this stage reveals

  • 1960s popular culture transposed into an alternate French context
  • Vaporist / catastrophist aesthetic, cold fog and cabaret neon
  • Power, freedom, manipulation, celebrity and manufactured legend
  • A cabaret-rock form carried by the troupe, the songs and the transformations on stage
  • A show festive on the surface, crossed by questions of power, freedom and legend

Performers

Artistic cast

Six stage artists, across acting, singing and music, bring the legend to life.

Liza Sobkovsky - Goulag Geburtstag
Goulag Geburtstag

Liza Sobkovsky

A Franco-Slavic artist who crosses languages and borders through voice. Trained in literature at the Sorbonne and theater at Tel Aviv University, Liza works at the crossroads of writing, singing and stage performance, and has released two personal albums. She creates intense characters where dramaturgy, music and physical presence intertwine. Her multilingual world — Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, French — feeds a deeply narrative and emotional expression. She joined « Eddy Piof: la légende » in 2024.

Marisa Rubio - Colonel Montblanc
Colonel Montblanc

Marisa Rubio

An actress of Mexican origin with broad experience in theater, film and TV. Based in France since 2014, creator of the staged tales « Cacao, un doux retour en enfance » and « Sur la Route de la Vanille », she is also co-founder of the EL ZOKALO cultural bar and its open stage, around which the cabarock troupe was built. She joined « Eddy Piof: la légende » in 2025, where she plays Eddy Piof's impresaria, who handles his career and more.

Florian Hutter - The Machine
The Machine

Florian Hutter

A percussionist, self-taught but with Masters, singer, actor and tanguero, Florian has done every kind of job, led theater workshops in psychiatric settings, and read people's minds with his ears. Today he does the same with music and characters: understanding them from the inside and putting his whole body into it, not just his heart. His summer music residency in the Cévennes is legendary. In this story, which he joined in 2024, he is the all-seeing and all-doing hand of power. But for whose benefit: his own, the Empire's, or something else? And how human can he remain? Between the two lies the intoxication of power. His stage function drives the rhythm that carries the characters toward their fate.

Michel Marteau

Pab San

An eclectic bassist, Pab San moves through styles with the same appetite for collective play: jazz, improvisation, song, cabaret, jam sessions and fringe stages. On stage, he likes grooves that change direction, chance encounters and characters who open a door where everyone expected a wall. In “Eddy Piof: The Legend”, he plays Michel Marteau, an all-purpose fixer and guide between worlds. Behind his discreet handyman's air, Michel carries singular gifts: he connects people, shifts trajectories and opens unexpected paths for the characters.

Sylvain Clément - A guard
A guard

Sylvain Clément

A self-taught six-string guitarist and singer across varied styles, Sylvain provides the guitar backbone of the show while stepping on stage, guitar in hand, as one of the guardians of the established order.

Didier Pitot - Author and stage director
Author and stage director

Didier Pitot

Didier Pitot created Eddy Piof: The Legend in 2018. He writes and stages the show. Classically trained and a rocker since adolescence, he produced a theatrical and musical work at the Avignon Festival (« De tous les équipages », after A. Rimbaud and H. de Balzac), wrote and produced two rock albums, then rebuilt Eddy Piof in an accessible, musical and collective form.
